Faith Walk Ministries

  Faith Walk Ministries was founded by Carol Cruise. Her vision is to walk around the perimeter of the United States and pray for our country.  The mission...to claim this country for God and God's purpose and to share His love with all people.

   In October of 2000, the vision was shared with over 100 Christians at a Christian conference in Williamsburg, Virginia.  At that time, plans were made to begin the walk in January 2002. 
  
  The walk began on January 1, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. when the first steps north were taken out of South Beach Miami, Florida.  A three foot cross was placed in the ground at the southern most point  of the beach to mark the start of the venture.   It was here, as friends and family gathered, they began to walk and pray for the United States of America.

   For each mile walked around the perimeter of the United States, a small cross is planted.  These crosses are left to mark Cruise's progress and to spread the message of God's Love.  Each cross has a card attached, explaining the ministry and asking that the cross be passed on.

   Cruise walked until Thanksgiving the first year.  The next several years, Carol  attended several conferences and shared her testimony at various churches and other events throughout the winter months, when the weather did not permit her to walk.  She then resumed the perimeter walk at the exact location.  Since reaching the West Coast, Carol has been walking year round.  Check out the Mapped Progress page for further updates.

   Carol Cruise lost her right leg due to an injury in surgery.  She had to undergo 15 more surgeries over a three year period, in attempts to save her leg.  The result was amputation.  During this time, she felt tremendous strength from God as He carried her through the ordeal.

   Since the amputation, Carol has encouraged other amputees and their families to concentrate on their abilities...not their disabilities.  She has spoken to a variety of age  groups about her situation and has encouraged them to see others as people just like themselves, focusing on their abilities instead of their disabilities.

   Carol plans to walk the entire 10,000+ miles around the United States as she prays for our country and continues to encourage "differently abled" people.  She encourages all to focus on their God given abilities instead of their so-called disabilities.  Carol expects to complete the walk o December 31st, 2010.
